75th anniversary of VJ Day
15 August 2020 is the 75th anniversary of VJ Day, marking both the surrender of Japan and the end of the Second World War.
On behalf of all our residents, Tickton & Routh Parish Council marked this 75th anniversary by placing a wreath and two silent silhouettes at the recently restored War Memorial. Streetlights along Main Street, Tickton and the noticeboards at Hull Bridge, Routh and Weel were decorated with red, white and blue ribbons.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) governments guidelines were observed.
We are very grateful to East Riding of Yorkshire Council for part funding this project.
