The Coronation Petanque Court is now open
The Parish Council is pleased to announce that, following a request from a group of parishioners and feedback through the parish appraisal consultation, a pétanque terrain and seating area has been installed.
The new recreational facilities are open for the public to use and enjoy. Groups, charities and businesses planning to use the Village Field, GL Cullington Field and any of the the recreational facilities can request a booking form by contacting the Parish Council by email: info@ticktonandrouth.org.uk or calling mobile: 07563 155 095.
This ambitious project has been wholly funded by grants and donations from a wide range of funders, local organisations, and individuals including : –
- The Routh Wind Farm Community Fund
- East Riding of Yorkshire Council ‘Do It For East Yorkshire Grant’
- Dogger Bank Community Fund #DoggerBank
- HEY Smile Foundation ‘East Riding Community Action Grant’
- FITTA Groups
- Tickton WI
- Wyke Millennium Lodge
- The Warren Family
- The Whymant Family and,
- Local individuals
L & K Warcup Construction Ltd was awarded the contract and commenced work on Thursday 9 November 2023. As part of this project additional fencing has been installed to secure the younger children’s play area on the Village Field.
What is Pétanque?
Pétanque is a gentle sport for all ages and all abilities, and we look forward to seeing young and old enjoying the game.
